In April, FBC members may submit up to twenty names on nomination forms (for Deacon) and one name (for Trustee), to the Church Office.
These forms will include a listing of the names of presently active deacons who are ineligible for consideration during this election cycle. Members may not nominate First Baptist ministerial staff members or their spouses, or employees of the church or ordained ministers active in their calling, who may be members of the church.
Nomination forms may be obtained and returned at the church office, Sanctuary and Chapel foyers on Sundays and Banquet Hall on Wednesdays during April. Nominee eligibility requirements will be listed in the nomination form.
During May, deacon and trustee candidates who wish to consider their nomination will attend one of several orientation meetings conducted by the current deacon body leadership. Those candidates who the Deacon Election Committee confirms are eligible according to the Church Bylaws and who wish to accept their nomination will become Deacon and/or Trustee nominees and their names will be placed on the election ballot, to be publicized by the church and to be cast by FBC members from the second Sunday in June through the second Sunday in July. Newly elected deacons and trustees will begin service in September.
