Gainesville Food Pantry

First Baptist Church is a member of the Gainesville Food Pantry located on Oak Street.  This pantry is a hands-on ministry run by church volunteers from five churches, established for the purpose of assisting local families and individuals who are in need of food.  In 2016, 2,400 families were served.  Behind this number are real people who struggle to feed themselves and their families.  The five churches which make up this ecumenical partnership are St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grace Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, and First Baptist Church.  The two annual food drives at First Baptist are done during Lent and at the Living Christmas Tree program.
