Welcome to the Children's Ministry at First Baptist Church!  Our two main meeting times occur on Sunday mornings for Bible Study and on Wednesdayevenings for children’s choir and missions.  Other special events and studies happen throughout the year.

On Sunday mornings we meet at 9:45am in the Great Room (room 108) for an Opening Activity and at 10:00am dismiss to graded classrooms for small group time.  Our Bible study time is a chance for children to dive deeper into the Bible and explore their faith in fun and age-appropriate ways. We use Cokesbury’s Deep Blue curriculum which encourages children to make Bible stories, Bible people, and Bible passages a part of their lives.  Our hope is that they come to know the Bible as THEIR book and find ways to let the Bible speak to them today.

Most Sunday mornings, we also have Children's Worship Workshop during the 10:50am worship service for children in Kindergarten-2nd grades. The Worship Guide indicates when children are dismissed out the doors by the organ in the service. Children are picked-up in room 108. We always have worship bags in the foyer for older children and our younger worshipers on the Sunday's Worship Workshop does not meet.

Wednesday Nights following children’s choirs, we meet from 6:30pm-7:00pmin the Children's Wing for fun Mission activities. This year, we are using a curriculum entitled Love in a Big World.  This is a character education movement – one that provides both social and emotional learning (SEL), and helps kids develop the kind of positive personality traits that will empower them in everyday life.  The purpose of SEL us to help people identify what is going on in their heads (cognitive) and in their hearts (emotions/affect) so they use their hands (behavior/skills) to help build up and not tear down. Each character trait is connected to a Scripture passage and we will learn together in hands-on activities.  Once a month, we will serve our local community or a global organization together with a hands-on Missions night.
