Children's Ministry - weekly activities
Weekly Programs
Son Town Sunday school Sundays, 9:45-10:40AM in the Fellowship Hall Son Town is the exciting way we teach our children on Sunday mornings. Each month, our children rotate through six workshops, interacting with the Biblical stories of our faith. Using storytelling, cooking, art, creative movement, computers and drama, our children personally connect to the lessons, allowing them to treasure their experiences, and therefore embrace and remember the stories. Every Sunday students in Kindergarten through the fifth grade gather in the fellowship hall. They are then led to their workshop by a class shepherd that stays with their class the entire year. The shepherd forms a special bond with their flock as they experience the exciting discoveries the kids make as they encounter faith. Within the workshops they might meet Noah, make a map of Israel using pizza toppings, or even build a replica of the Ark of the Covenant. For more information, you will have to ask you kids - we are positive they will want to tell you all about it!

Children's Worship Children's Worship participants leave at the designated time during the 10:55AM service. This worship time is for children ages kindergarten - 2nd grade. Children's worship provides a child-friendly, age-appropriate worship environment where children can participate in the worship of God and experience community with friends. It is our desire that children will transition into a more meaningful worship experience as they grow older, develop skills in leading worship and find relevant Bible lessons that apply to their current life situation. We start our time together each week by lighting a candle to represent God's presence with us. We then worship through music, lesson, and prayer. The kids take turns collecting the offering and leading the prayers.
The Way of the Child Sundays 4:30-6:30PM Grades 1-5 January 13-April 27 The Way of the Child, from the writers of Companions in Christ, recognizes that children have an innate spirituality with a natural acceptance of mystery, an amazing capacity for awe, a vital imagination, a longing to be their unique selves, and an ability to be open to and receive God's Love. The Way of the Child leads children to a deeper relationship with God, encourages responses to God, teaches the importance of community and develops lifelong faith practices.
Mission Education Wednesday 6:30-7:15PM Jesus called us to go and share the love of God. As we gather the children will discover how God is using missionaries to meet the needs of other children all over the world. Through experiential learning they will discover serving others is the best way to share our faith. Each month we do a mission project that helps the children know they can make a difference in their world.
