MOPS is a program designed for moters with children under school age, birth through Kindergarten. It is a nondenominational Christian organization that believes that mothers are important, mothering matters, and moms need help. Over 1,100 MOPS groups gather in churches throughout the United States, Canada and 19 other countries to meet the needs of more than 45,000 women each year.

Mothers, not all the same age, but all in the same phase of life, come from different lifestyles and different backgrounds, yet have similar needs and a shared desire to be the best mother they can be. A MOPS group provides a caring accepting atmosphere for today's mothers. Here she has an opportunity to share concerns, build friendships, explore areas of creativity and hear instruction that equips her for the responsibilities of family and community. MOPS helps moms, and MOPS makes a difference in the lives of their families. Our Group

The First Baptist Church chapter of MOPS is beginning its sixth year of ministry. Many of the 40 or so ladies in our group are members of other congregations or do not yet have a church home.

We typically meet on the first and third Thursday of each month from 9:30am - noon, often with several other outside activities planned, such as play-dates (where moms and children meet somewhere to play) and Ladies Night Out. At each meeting, moms enjoy refreshments, a devotion, an inspiring speaker, small group time and time to create something without interruption. While the moms are enjoying their program, their children are nearby in a safe and caring environment with qualified teachers. Age-appropriate activities including music, games, crafts and exercise are provided in a Christian atmosphere.
